My Top Five Disney Movies for a Rainy Winter Day

If you're anything like me, then you love winter and snow and rain. There's nothing like studying by a window with the steady beat of raindrops to lull you into relaxation, or stepping out into a snow-covered world with a caramel cappuccino in hand. Although there is a downside to these whimsical days: they tend to be cold. If you want to avoid catching a cold or just downright being uncomfortable, then you probably tend to retreat indoors. Besides, there's nothing better than snuggling up under a warm blanket to watch a movie from your childhood while the rain lashes about outside! So here are my top 5 Disney movies to watch on a cold rainy. Be sure your bucket of popcorn is ready! Bonus points if you construct a blanket fort!

1. Wall.e

This was one of my personal favorites as a child. Me and my brother were practically obsessed! Featuring an adorable robot who goes on an adventure into outer space in order to follow the love of his life, Wall.e is a movie packed to the brim with wholesomeness and adventure. Nothing better for warming your heart on a rainy day than an adorable robot finding love!

2. Tangled

This movie is the epitome of sunny and warm! If the drab winter weather makes you long for days of warmth, sunshine, and green grass, then give Tangled a watch. This movie features a princess on a quest to discover the truth about herself and the lanterns that appear every single year on her birthday. I personally love the summer-y atmosphere of this movie! The animating is beautiful and there is some lovely scenery in this movie.

This is probably my favorite nostalgic movie of my childhood. The movie itself is heartwarming, funny, and perfect for the whole family. The storyline is great and the animation is beautiful. There are two sequels to this movie, and a spin-off franchise. However, none of them compare to the quality of this one (Well the third one is pretty good. The second one is funny, but it does not fit the theme of the first movie). If you and you're family are looking for a good, nostalgic, and family-friendly feature to watch on a rainy afternoon, this movie knocks it out of the ballpark!

4. The Aristocats

I absolutely loved this classic Disney movie when I was young, and just a few weeks ago me and my roommate decided to watch it one afternoon. It's a very adorable tale of a family of cats (a single mother and her three charming kittens) on a journey to find their home after being taken far away by the movie's villain. Be forewarned: this movie is overflowing with adorableness and wholesomeness. It will be sure to warm your mood even on the chilliest of days!

5. Lady and the Tramp

Wholesomeness, beautiful animation, cute character design, and romance--this Disney classic has it all! Forget cold weather, this movie will warm cold hearts! The movie itself is not very long (only about 76 minutes long), so it's perfect for an afternoon rain shower. This movie is a good movie for any audience. It would also make a cute date-night movie for a couple that wants to stay in.
